NRN Social Club Oman Condemns Violence Against Peaceful Gen Z Protest in Nepal
Muscat, Oman – The Non-Resident Nepali Social Club Oman expresses its deepest sorrow and outrage over the tragic incident that occurred yesterday in Nepal, where a peaceful protest led by the youth of Generation Z was brutally disrupted.
The protest was organized by young Nepalese students who were raising their voices against systemic corruption, inequality, and the repeated failures of the government to deliver peace, justice, and fair governance. Despite being peaceful, the demonstration was met with excessive force as police opened fire on unarmed students. This senseless act of violence resulted in the loss of 19 innocent lives and left more than a hundred critically injured.
We strongly condemn this reckless and irresponsible action by the authorities, which reflects the failure of the government to respect human rights and democratic values. Such actions are not only unacceptable but are also a direct assault on the fundamental rights of Nepalese citizens.
On behalf of all Nepalese working and residing in Oman, the Non-Resident Nepali Social Club extends heartfelt condolences to the families of the brave souls who lost their lives. We share in the grief of the bereaved and stand firmly with the courageous students of Nepal in their struggle for justice, equality, and a better future.
We call upon the international community and global human rights organizations to stand in solidarity with Nepal’s youth, to strongly condemn this atrocity, and to urgently initiate a thorough and independent investigation. The perpetrators of this heinous crime must be held accountable without delay.
It is our collective duty to ensure that the voices of Nepal’s youth are heard, protected, and respected.
